Guidance Mentoring 2020/21 - a review in figures

Now it has been successfully completed, the first year of Guidance Mentoring is over. On July 1st, the final event took place in the Talent Garden. Time to reflect on the achievements of our mentees, mentors, the Advisory Board in person of Karin Heinzl and Thomas Andersen and our team.

Impact Measurement modeled on oikos St. Gallen

Measuring performance is an integral part of the sustainable development of the mentoring program. An approach from oikos St. Gallen acted as a guiding impulse for this. Elena Müller, Vice President of the Swiss organisation, explains: “We are very pleased that our method of impact measurement is also being taken up by other organisations.” “Measuring the impact generated helps organisations to make strategic decisions based on data”, adds Valeria Reccagni. Based on feedback queries and internal documentation, a corresponding indicator system was developed. This is divided into Career and Social Impact.

Career Impact - 85% of program participants received job interviews

In the year it was founded, Guidance had a total of 20 Mentees and 17 Mentors. We want to especially point out the diverse backgrounds of all personalities. The Mentees of the 2020/21 programme year alone spoke a total of 12 languages, including Arabic, Italian, Swedish, Ukrainian and many more. In addition, more than 60 (virtual) individual sessions were held between mentors and mentors. In parallel, 15 events were held with an attendance rate of 90% for the Mentees. This included workshops with Accenture and the Boston Consulting Group. In addition, four international speaker events were held with guests from London, New York, St. Gallen and Tel Aviv. More than 80% of the Mentees rated the content of these events as relevant or very relevant. The resulting benefits of job preparation helped a large number of people to do job interviews.

Social Impact – 5 successfully completed project works

The summer semester of the program was entirely dedicated to the initiative and project activity of the Mentees. In particular, the project teams cooperated with international non-profit organisations. The project partners were active in Austria, Germany, France, Burkina Faso and Uganda.
